About
Hirsch Philanthropy Partners is one of the first philanthropic advising firms in the United States. We were founded by Susan Mayer Hirsch, a visionary leader known for her extraordinary knowledge of private philanthropy, public policy, and community needs.
Before founding Hirsch in 1999, Susan spent eight years as the founding Executive Director of the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund, where she created a new philanthropic model focused on partnerships to address deep disparities in early childhood education. She saw an opportunity to share these new approaches with more philanthropists who were motivated to support high-impact, community-centered change. Legendary San Francisco philanthropist, Warren Hellman, and his wife Chris were among our first clients and we continue to manage the Hellman Foundation today.
We are passionate about our partnerships with individuals, families, and foundations to make a lasting, positive difference in the world. For more than two decades, our team has directed over $1.6 billion to nonprofits, community leaders, and public sector agencies boldly solving our most pressing issues. Our deep Bay Area roots and extensive national relationships facilitate these potent connections.
Hirsch Philanthropy Partners crafts enduring giving strategies with philanthropists to achieve transformative, community-centered change.
Our experience bringing people together to solve problems, belief in the potential of innovative methods and surprising ideas, and courage to make the world better despite great disparities serve as the foundation for our work. We ask the right questions, design original solutions, and create sustainable impact.
