To encourage the philanthropic crisis response, we highly recommend the following list of organizations providing urgent aid and relief to the people of Ukraine – researched and vetted by our expert team.

All are registered 501(c)(3) organizations that accept contributions from foundations and donor-advised funds.

CARE USA

President and CEO: Michelle Nunn

Organization Mission: CARE works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice.

Response Activities: The CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund aims to reach four million people with immediate aid, food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance – prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly.

Center for Disaster Philanthropy – Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Recovery Fund

President and CEO: Patricia McIlreavy

Organization Mission: The Center for Disaster Philanthropy leverages the power of philanthropy to mobilize a full range of resources that strengthen the ability of communities to withstand disasters and recover equitably when they occur.

Response Activities: The Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Recovery Fund focuses on urgent humanitarian needs (e.g., healthcare, food, shelter, water, sanitation, protection, etc.), particularly for the most vulnerable, marginalized, and at risk internally displaced peoples and refugees.

International Medical Corps

President and CEO: Nancy Aossey

Organization Mission: International Medical Corps delivers emergency medical and related services to those affected by conflict, disaster and disease, no matter where they are, no matter what the conditions.

Response Activities: International Medical Corps is on the front lines to help Ukrainians with emergency healthcare and psychosocial services. The organization is keeping the pandemic top of mind throughout the crisis by prioritizing COVID-19 awareness and prevention services for displaced citizens.

Nova Ukraine

President and CEO: Ostap Korkuna

Organization Mission: Nova Ukraine, based in Palo Alto, is dedicated to raising awareness about Ukraine in the U.S. and throughout the world and providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Response Activities: Nova Ukraine works with nonprofits and volunteers to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine’s most vulnerable residents. They are preparing to ship items like diapers, baby food, and essentials to hospitals in Ukraine.

Razom

President: Dora Chomiak

Organization Mission: Razom, which means “together” in Ukrainian, believes deeply in the enormous potential of dedicated volunteers around the world united by a single goal: to unlock the potential of Ukraine. Razom works towards that mission by creating spaces where people meet, partner, and do.

Response Activities: Razom’s emergency response focuses on essential medical supplies for critical situations like blood loss. Razom’s large volunteer procurement team tracks down and purchases supplies, and their logistics team then transports supplies to Ukraine.

Save the Children

President and CEO: Janti Soeripto

Organization Mission: Save the Children works every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. When crisis strikes and children are most vulnerable, they are always among the first to respond and the last to leave.

Response Activities: Save the Children’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund works with trusted partners to meet the urgent needs of affected children and their families. They are providing life-saving assistance such as food, water, cash transfers, and safe places for children as people flee the war.

USA for UNHCR

Executive Director and CEO: Anne Marie-Grey

Organization Mission: USA for UNHCR (the United Nations Refugee Agency) protects refugees and empowers them with hope and opportunity, providing aid to refugees during their greatest time of need to help them rebuild their lives.

Response Activities: USA for UNHCR has stepped up its emergency response in Ukraine to work with governments in neighboring countries, calling on them to keep borders open to those seeking safety and protection.

World Central Kitchen

President: Nate Mook

Organization Mission: World Central Kitchen uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies through times of crisis and beyond.

Response Activities: World Central Kitchen is serving thousands of fresh meals to Ukrainian families fleeing their homes as well as those who remain in the country. They’ve expanded efforts to serve accommodation centers in Poland, Romania, Moldova, and other locations supporting refugees, while also partnering with restaurants in Ukraine to provide hot meals to anyone in need.
